A lot of our customers use GrexIt as a (better) replacement for Microsoft Exchange Public/Shared Folders. Some of these customers, when they moved to GrexIt, wanted to export tons of their data from Outlook into GrexIt.
We built a built a PST importer for GrexIt to help our customers do just this. This is how it works:
- A GrexIt user can log in to their admin panel to access the PST Import feature.
- When we get an import request, we generate an FTP account for the customer which helps her upload the PST files to our secure server.
- The GrexIt backend imports the PST file into the GrexIt account, with the Outlook Folders being imported as Tags in GrexIt. All conversations and attachments are neatly filed in GrexIt.
- If the user wants to define access controls for the imported folders, they can go to the GrexIt admin panel and set up access controls for the corresponding tags. This is how it works: http://grexit.com/help#accesscontrols
